Obey or pay: 7 Orlando intersections to get red-light cameras by Sept. 1
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer announced today the intersections where red-light cameras will be operating by September 1.
The cameras, which will take photos of the violators' licenses plates, will be mounted at the following intersections:
* Conroy Road and Vineland Road (east, west and south)
* Michigan Street and Dixie Bell Drive (west)
* Lee Vista Boulevard and Goldenrod Road (east)
* Westmoreland Drive and South Street (south)
* Turkey Lake Road and Wallace Road (north and east)
* Kaley Street and Division Avenue (east)
* Magnolia Avenue and Concord Street (north)
Red-light runners will be fined $125 for their first two violations and $250 for subsequent violations. It's a civil fine, so no points will be assessed to drivers licenses.
Dyer made the announcement along with a warning to red-light runners. "Obey the traffic light or we will lighten your wallet," he said.
